Ahtanum Valley in June

Yakima in the begining of any season is beautiful. And I'm convinced that the best view in West Valley is from the back of the church.
In the summer everything is green. You can see two creeks, Ahtanum and Bachelor, winding through the valley. Trees follow their paths. The ridge is brown and bland in comparison, but somehow that contrast is what makes it so beautiful. Fields create a patchwork around the streams, alfalfa, pasture, but more important are the numerous apple orchards. Looking out over the whole thing from the backyard of the church, sitting in the grass, you can literally smell summer. It is a mix of several different weeds and trees that go into bloom in the begining of June. A smell that i long for no matter what season. The feel of the sun on my arms... I love summer, in June, right in the begining.
It's the rest of summer that I dispise...
The view from the church is equally beautiful in the middle of winter. Everything is blanketed in snow, Christmas lights are up on the houses. It looks so pristine from up above, but when you get to looking you can see giant snowmen in front yards... It's a touch like that that makes a scene beautiful.
Fall is great too. All those green trees become orange and red and yellow. It's just so beautiful.
It's a view like that that proves to me that God exists. You may agree with me, tell me something about mathamatical equations. But I tell you, beauty like this earth is no accident. Things like the beauty of this valley in June show me that God has His hands in everything... Knowing that he put so much effort into something that really has no consequence... It tells me that no matter what is going on that it will be okay. That things work themselves out. God has a plan...
you may not agree, and thats your right. But I don't know how you can look at that view and not at least wonder...
