I'll love you for it in the long run

I haven't written in awhile. I don't know why, I just haven't really had much to say.

Well, okay, I'll just do a "this is whats going on with me" kind of entry... not much substance, but hell, this is my diary and i'll write whatever the hell i want so there.

So I got a job at TJ Maxx. I start on Thursday. The plus side to this is the employee discount. The down side is that I actually have to work. Well, most likely.

To prepare for having a job I went shopping today. That makes sense, I have no money so it sounds like a great idea to go spend money before I have it... but I hung out with Patty which is a good thing.

Speaking of Patty, she's (probably) coming to the lock-in at wiley on thursday! this is a much-good thing. I love my patty! Why is this so good? well, she is one of those people who has the wrong impression of what church is. I want to help get her away from this impression without shoving it down her throat. Because shoving it down her throat would be not-so-nice. Not to mention something that I don't like to do to people.

That is something that I really hate... People who aren't so much hippocrits, but more like people who try and shove things into other peoples faces. The whole scaring people into believing in God just doesn't work, sorry. Honestly, someone isn't going to give a rat's ass about the guy on the street corner handing out bibles when they see their so-called christian friends doing/saying very un-Christlike things.

I think that there is no other way to convince people that church/christianity is not what they think it is (which quite often is the case, not always) is to live life Christ-like lives now don't get me wrong. You can be a Christian and still have fun... people do all the time.

And thats what this lock-in is about. People who are Christians, people who aren't, hanging out together all night long and just having fun together. Watching movies, playing video games, playing board games, card games. I want to get some poker chips and get a good game of poker going...

There is a happy medium between the guy on the street corner with the large sign proclaiming that all college students are going to hell and the guy who preaches christianity but doesn't live it. Sometimes i feel like i tread a fine line between that middle area and the second person... some days i feel like i'm trying to ram my religion down peoples throats... I try.

Please, let me know when i'm messing up. It takes me longer to notice things like that, I'm likely to see it when a friend i trust is telling me that I'm screwing up. I don't hesitate to tell a friend that he's creating a bad name. Keep me accountable. Please, whether you are a Christian yourself of not, if i'm screwing up, please tell me.

I'll love you for it in the long run.

In other news, Dad brought Kristin her car. My car is officially MINE now :) I'm thrilled!
